We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join our fast paced and dynamic organisation in the dual role of onshore/offshore Rope Access Manager. The successful candidate will ensure all Rope Access Activities are carried out safely and in accordance with internal procedures and statutory regulations. It is expected that the post holder alongside his/her main responsibilities will also support offshore operations as and when required.
The Rope Access Manager will act as the company rope access expert; you will be the first point of contact for technical queries and regulatory bodies. You will comply with IRATA and ICOP requirements to control all aspects of Rope Access activities on DSL projects.
Your main responsibilities include:
Prepare for, and represent, the company at rope access audits and attend annual IRATA meetings.
Update company policies, procedures and distribute updates in line with IRATA alerts.
Monitor and ensure that all Rope Access Technicians have up to date certification and record all Rope Access hours. Cross reference Technicians log books and ensure activities have taken place in the past 6 months, check suitable first aid certification for all Rope Access Level 3 Technicians
Ensure correct Rope Access equipment has been supplied and is fit for purpose.
Ensure compliant risk assessments and method statements are prepared for each project and are kept up to date and in line with current IRATA requirements, for both the UK and overseas.
Ensure that all team members are fully aware and compliant with their QHSE responsibilities and their obligations to update systems such as BMS.
Carry out regular reviews of the company’s policies and procedures and update and inform where necessary.
The ideal candidate should have experience working in the oil and gas industry as well as a good working knowledge of working at heights and IRATA requirements.
You will be IRATA Level 3 qualified, have a current first aid certificate, possess a current offshore survival and an up to date medical.
The successful candidate will have some management or supervisory experience, will be used to dealing with clients as well as being able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
